W.A. van Es-prijs

De W.A. van Es-prijs werd op 20 december 1988 ingesteld bij het vertrek van de toenmalige directeur van de Rijksdienst voor het Oudheidkundig Bodemonderzoek, prof. dr. W.A. van Es.

Criteria

Voor deze stimuleringsprijs komen publicaties in aanmerking die met de archeologie in Nederland en/of Nederland in zijn Noordwest-Europese context verband houden. Bij de instelling van de prijs in 1988 zijn de klassieke archeologie en niet-westerse archeologie expliciet uitgesloten. Studies die niet op de archeologie van Nederland en/of Nederland in zijn Noordwest-Europese context betrekking hebben, kunnen alleen in aanmerking komen indien er een expliciete inhoudelijke relatie met de archeologie van Nederland en zijn overzeese expansie gelegd wordt. Er worden 2 categorieën publicaties onderscheiden die roulerend voor de prijs in aanmerking komen: proefschrift en masterscripties (MA, MSc en RMA).
