Recognising archaeological finds in aquatic sediments
This booklet contains information about recognizing and handling unexpected archaeological finds at sea or on inland waterways.
Finding objects
This booklet explains what your initial response should be if you encounter what looks like an archaeological object, and details your legal obligation to report such a find. It provides examples of archaeological objects, classified according to type of material: wood, stone, flint, pottery, glass, bone, leather, textiles and metal. To give you an idea of how much information a chance find can yield, the booklet ends with an example. You can read how archaeologists have reconstructed a piece of history based on maritime archaeological finds.
