Fluffy Stuff: Integrated Control of Mould in Archives
This book covers all aspects of the integrated control of mould in museums, archives and libraries. It is crucial that the materials are stored in the correct conditions.
Five steps
Tackling the symptoms is an ineffective way to go about combating mould. In almost all cases, mould problems can be linked to incorrect storage conditions or water damage. Regardless of the method of disinfection used, an improvement in storage conditions is required in order to prevent a rapid reoccurrence. Integrated control consists of a logical sequence of five steps: avoid, block, detect, confine and treat. The emphasis is on preventive measures and their monitoring.
